Pictures must credit: CBS Things turned ugly for football legend David Beckham when he was given a sneak preview of a statue made to honour his time playing in the USA.But instead of a lifelike representation of the former England captain to be displayed outside the ground of US league team LA Galaxy, he was presented with a caricature. He looked stunned as the wraps came off the statue showing him with a long chin, very long arms and a huge backside.Unknown to Beckham, 43, the statue had actually been made for a prank by late night US TV host James Corden, a friend of the star. And hidden cameras had filmed the whole episode. As Beckham was about to walk out, a forklift turned up to move the statue but ended up pushing over smashing it.Beckham, still not aware it was all a stunt, turned to the driver and said:” You’ve probably done me a favour there.”It was then that Corden appeared to reveal the whole thing had been a set-up involving actors and backroom staff at LA Galaxy who were in on the joke. The whole elaborate plan was made for The Late Late Show with James Corden on US TV channel CBS.
