BGUK_1514113 - ** RIGHTS: WORLDWIDE EXCEPT IN UNITED STATES ** Los Angeles, CA, CA - James Corden pranks David Beckham with 'embarrassing' fake statue before official LA Galaxy unveiling. The Late Late Show host left Becks horrified as he came face-to-face with the statue that had a huge chin and massive backside. The soccer star had arrived early at the stadium to give his approval to the statue before it was unveiled before 25,000 fans. But Corden switched the real statue for the fake one - which looked nothing like the former LA Galaxy and Man Utd player. When Beckham first arrived he was - unbeknownst to him - greeted by a group of actors who's job it was to annoy him. One guy called 'Tom' repeatedly called him Dave until Beckham told him: "Only my mum calls me Dave, you can call me David." Corden then substituted the real statue sculptor Omri Amrany with comedian Maz Jobrani in glasses and a wig - which Beckham failed to realize. After LA Galaxy President Chris Klein unveiled the statue, Beckham was left crestfallen. He said: "That's slightly different to when I saw it in Chicago. That looks nothing like me." Maz insisted it did, saying he had 'captured him in motion'. But Beckham was insistent, adding: "Look at my chin! The only thing that looks good is my hair. Look at my arse!" Klein stepped in saying: "I think it looks amazing," but by now Beckham was getting a little angry. He said: "I really don't see how it can go out. My parents are coming in from London. I look like Stretch Armstrong. I think if my kids saw it they could cry. It's embarrassing. There's no way that can go in the front of the stadium." An actor driving a forklift then went to move the statue but 'accidentally' smashed it. Beckham turned to him and quipped: "You've probably done me a favour." As he prepared to walk out, Corden, who had been watching behind the scenes and laughing, came rushing out. Beckham realized he'd been pranked and left rip with several four letter words before hugging Corden and saying: "Thank God for that!" *BACKGRID DOES NOT CLAI Pictured: David Beckham, actor 'Tom' BACKGRID UK 12 MARCH 2019, Image: 418890142, License: Rights-managed, Restrictions: , Model Release: no, Credit line: Profimedia, Backgrid UK
